Dr Kevin Aanyu

Kevin Aanyu (PhD) is a lecturer at the Department of Geology and Petroleum Studies (College of Natural Sciences, Makerere University). Her PhD study, done at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz-Germany, involves investigating the role of fault distribution and kinematics in the uplift of rift flanks around the Rwenzori mountains, which are located within the western branch of the East African Rift System.

Dr Aanyu’s research interests have mainly been in Structural geology & Tectonics, however, in the past few years they have expanded into petroleum geoscience fields such as tectonostratigraphy and general basin analysis. Kevin trains students on geology & petroleum geoscience field courses and in field geological mapping.
