Kevin Aanyu (PhD)

Kevin Aanyu (PhD) is a lecturer at the Department of Geology and Petroleum Studies (College of Natural Sciences, Makerere University). My PhD study, done at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz-Germany, involved investigating the role of fault distribution and kinematics in the uplift of rift flanks around the Rwenzori mountains, which are located within the western branch of the East African Rift System. My research interests have mainly been in Structural geology & Tectonics, however, in the past few years they have expanded into petroleum geoscience fields such as tectonostratigraphy and general basin analysis. I train students on geology & petroleum geoscience field courses and in field geological mapping.
